Rock also stays powerful through In Waves, Pretty When You Break, HIGH, Better Than You, Apologies, and Broken Throne. Country and pop provide the warmer side of the chart through Can’t Sit Still, Hate How You Look, Chevy Silverado, Little More Time, Wish I Didn’t, Drunk Cigs, and Wreck My Night. The three FIFA Sound collaborations at numbers 38–40 close the countdown with an international atmosphere that connects the chart to the excitement of the summer soccer season.
The biggest story is the run of #1 songs that carried momentum into July.
My favorite songs entering the July charts showed how quickly my summer rotation evolved from emotional Drum & Bass into a wider mix of country-pop, rock, and melodic electronic music. Holding On” by Friction and Sam Harper began the run by reaching #1 on June 14, followed by the emotional country storytelling of “Bar And Back” by Josh Ross, which took over the top spot on June 21. Midnight Sun” by Kanine** continued the momentum by peaking at #1 on June 28, bringing bright, high-speed DnB energy just before July began. “Can’t Sit Still” by Lainey Wilson then became the first major July leader, reaching #1 on July 5 with its upbeat, restless, and warm-weather country energy, especially from the movie Reminders of Him. Other important favorites included “Naughty Girl” by Changing Faces and LIIA, which climbed to #3 on June 29, “Ocean Eyes” by TELYKAST, Frank Walker, Steerner and Jazara**, which reached **#5 on July 7 as the great tropical vibe dance song, and “Free” by Beartooth, which peaked at #9 on June 28. Together, these songs helped shape the July chart by combining emotional vocals, summer driving energy, uplifting bass, powerful rock, and feel-good country into one of my most varied rotations of the year.
While those songs marked important chart milestones, my current favorites show just how much my sound continues to evolve as summer progresses. "Alive" by Metrik has become one of my biggest Drum & Bass anthems thanks to its uplifting energy and festival atmosphere, while "SHADES OF BLUE" by John Summit, Devault & Julia Church delivers emotional house music that feels perfect for warm summer nights. "Pretty When You Break" by Ekoh & Catch Your Breath and "Better Than You" by Our Last Night continue my love for emotional modern rock, balancing intensity with memorable melodies. On the country side, "Hate How You Look" by Josh Ross & ”Chevy Silverado" by Bailey Zimmerman has that interesting storyline about life. With the Top Hot AC Songs highlight is ”Little More Time" by Niall Horan, and "Home Videos" by Taylor Acorn which it bring heartfelt storytelling and relaxed summer vibes. Together, these songs represent the sound of my July charts music that's equally suited for road trips, concerts, late-night drives, and the excitement of a summer that is only beginning to reach its peak.
One of the biggest success stories after the June chart cutoff was "Gasoline" by Culture Shock & Emie. Entering the chart just a few days after the June rankings were finalized, it steadily gained momentum throughout the month before climbing all the way to #11. Its explosive Drum & Bass production and energetic vocals quickly turned it into one of the fastest-rising electronic songs of the summer. Country music also produced a surprise breakthrough with "Chevy Silverado" by Bailey Zimmerman. After hearing it receive consistent airplay on country radio, the song immediately connected with me and rapidly climbed to #12. Its small-town storytelling and road-trip atmosphere made it one of the defining country additions to the July chart. Perhaps the biggest overnight success belonged to "Reality" by 5X, Denver UK & Jess Robyn. After spending only a short time on the verge of breaking into the chart, it exploded into the Top 20, reaching #18 in less than a month. Its polished Drum & Bass sound and uplifting production made it one of the month's biggest surprise risers. Rock continued its strong momentum with "Apologies" by Three Days Grace, giving the band a second appearance in the Top 20 alongside "In Waves." The song built on the emotional intensity that has made Three Days Grace one of the defining rock acts in this year's charts. After spending weeks just below the countdown, "One Last Tear" by Skepsis finally earned its place in the Top 40. Its emotional bassline and powerful drops rewarded its steady climb, proving that persistence can eventually pay off. Another unexpected riser was "All The Way" by Wilkinson, which immediately caught my attention with its catchy Drum & Bass production. It quickly developed into one of the chart's strongest overnight additions and continued the momentum Wilkinson had already established with earlier releases. "Fireproof" by YUSSI & XLVR followed a similar path, arriving with immediate impact and quickly securing the #25 position. Its confident production and powerful energy made it one of July's standout electronic additions. Looking toward the rest of the summer, "Chasing Freedom" by Dannic feels like one of the biggest songs to watch. Its uplifting progressive house sound has all the ingredients to become another major success as the season reaches its peak. On the country side, "Drunk Cigs" by Mackenzie Carpenter impressed with its beautiful melody and honest storytelling, while "Alabama 10" by MOONLGHT & Fordo became one of the chart's most fun and trendy additions, climbing to #29 with its road-trip atmosphere and easygoing summer vibe. Three Days Grace continued their impressive month with "Don't Wanna Go Home Tonight." After debuting at #40 during the middle of June, the song steadily gained traction before climbing to #30, showing that consistent listener support can turn a lower debut into a respectable chart success. One of the my most anticipated releases came was "Fun For Me" by S-Dubs & Mango. After hearing Mango preview the track as one of his IDs, I was eager for its official release, and it quickly earned a place in the July chart thanks to its playful blend of house and Drum & Bass. Finally, the closing positions of the July chart were transformed by the arrival of all three FIFA Sound songs—"Energy," "Three Nations," and "Illuminate." Their release came at the perfect time to wrap up the July countdown, connecting the excitement of the 2026 FIFA World Cup with the global soundtrack of the summer. Together, they gave the chart an international feel and created a fitting conclusion to one of the most diverse and energetic months of music this year.
